hey, i just recently turned off DHCP on my router and configured all my computers to use static ip addresses. i have no idea if this is the cause or not, but now when my computer boots (and does that redhat interactive startup thing), two of my linux machines take forever on "starting sendmail". they take like over 2 minutes before it finally says "OK". i have no idea what sendmail is for (besides something that sends messages to email addresses). does KMail use it? so i just turned it off at boot time using the setup program.
