A tarball is a file that has been compressed using a program named "tar." It will have an extension of .tar or .tar.bz2 or .tar.gz Do man tar to see how to use it. An rpm is a redhat compatible file that can be installed on a redhat system. It has an extension of .rpm. See man rpm to see how to use it. Usually you will type "rpm -ivh name-of-package.rpm" bruce > _______________________________________________ > Redhat-list mailing list > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list _______________________________________________ Redhat-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
