Because in the "Advanced TCP/IP Settings" of the Win2K LAN configuration the box "Register this connection's addresses in the DNS" is checked. This box is checked by default. You can do one of several things.... 1. Uncheck the box on the Win2K server. 2. Configure you DNS server to accept changes. 3. (I think...but don't remember) Change the logging settings of your DNS server to not log these events.
