It's a little frustrating to start emacs from console on the 486 > only to have it show up on the Athalon! -grin- Glen - The X forwarding is part of ssh check the remote box file /etc/ssh/sshd_config for a line that says X11 forwading and set it to yes. I believe the default is not to forward. then service sshd restart should get it going. On the client I think the default is ok but you might want to look in /etc/ssh/ssh_config to see what is in there. For me this a great feature of ssh.
