That one won't make too many friends or influence people!

Microsoft pushing what "is best for you" from above would equate very
well with communism. Linux, allowing people to do what they want, how
they want, and when they want is much more in line with freedom and not
some dictatorial notion.

Perhaps you are equating a somewhat utopian ideal with communism. The
only time you'll find any commonality is when you talk about the
theoretical ideals of communism. Strip away the theory though and
they're as different as night and day. And real communism has never been
even close to theory because it can't work.

Linux, even so, isn't anything utopian. But it more closely resembles
such things because this is people-inspired and requires no central
authority to keep people "where they are needed, for the benefit of
everyone."

I'll pass it off as a lack of proper wording.
