i have one running in front of me as we speak -- inspiron 8100,
with 1600x1200 screen.  looks fab, although some look over my shoulder
and wonder how i can read such small text.  i have good eyesight
and i love it.

mine has an nvidia geforce2go video card, so the trick, as i 
recall, is to skip x config during the install, then install
the nvidia rpms afterwards and just copy the appropriate
/etc/X11/XF86Config file from someone who has one.  like me. :-)
