Hello Greg, Saturday, April 06, 2002, 2:08:47 PM, you textually orated:
GC> My .forward file now looks like this: GC> \greg, mailarchive, [EMAIL PROTECTED] GC> I ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) get a copy, but greg and mailarchive, both local GC> addresses do not! <snip logs> GC> The two local recipients are not mentioned. GC> I've tried changing the addresses to @localhost, but has not helped either. GC> BUT... it's a complicated scenario. This is one site in a WAN of three, all GC> using the same Domain Name. To ensure local mail is delivered locally, and GC> not routed out to the Internet then back in, I'm using complex user routing GC> with sendmail config (configured using linuxconf!) as follows... GC> [EMAIL PROTECTED] delivered to greg GC> ...and I have masquerading set as follows... GC> linuxserver.headoffice.myclient.co.uk is masqueraded as myclient.co.uk GC> This works for local mail routing, but makes me think if Emails were going GC> out to the Internet, they could be addressed to GC> @linuxserver.headoffice.myclient.co.uk and will never make it back (although GC> I could set up DNS records to facilitate this if needed), but according to GC> my maillog the mails for the users don't get sent out to the Internet.... GC> but are not delivered locally either! GC> Any further ideas very welcome! I'm not going to pretend that I necessarily got my head wrapped around your set-up, but here is something to check/try.... On the machine that is not getting the local delivery properly, are both "linuxserver.headoffice.myclient.co.uk" and "myclient.co.uk" in the /etc/mail/local-host-names file? You can also check for lines like this in your maillog file... DSN: Local configuration error This file tells sendmail which domain names to consider "local for delivery" and may be where the problem is arising. Of course with not understanding your exact setup, this may have other implications for delivery so test thoroughly (like making sure mail gets delivered to the proper WAN segment). Have fun, -- _________________________________________________________________ Brian Ashe CTO [EMAIL PROTECTED] Dee-Web Software Services, LLC. http://www.dee-web.com/ ----------------------------------------------------------------- _______________________________________________ Redhat-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
