Basically, it tells you what packages will be skipped for automatic retrevial and installation. The default is to automatically skip the kernel installs. I would not blank it out. Generally, it is a good thing to skip updating your kernel by default. This is especially true when you get to the stage where you compile and install a custom kernel.
