However, attempting your process still left me without anything in my /nfs subdir. So while it I typed cd test and wham there it was... So I just implemented all the nfs mounts of all our systems and I'm a bit more happy now. Not sure if I just never tried to hit the test dir before. Thanks for the descriptive account of autofs. The only thing I don't really get right now is the difference between Indirect and Direct automounts.
