RAWRITE does not make boot disks. It is used for copying image files to disk. You want the program mkbootdisk. If you still want to know where RAWrite is it so on disk 1 in the /mnt/cdrom/dosutils folder Remember you need to mount the cdrom first. Linux has a place in its directory tree for mounting floppies. Which is /mnt/floppy. So your command should of looked like this:
mount -t vfat /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy What I do is format a bunch of disks for linux. Then print up some floppy labels with bold Red lettering that these disks are linux formated. Only rarely do you need to load a vfat directory. I hope this helps. > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Kjetil Tjensvold > Sent: Wednesday, March 20, 2002 7:28 AM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: How do I copy vmlinuz to a bootable MS-dos diskette > > > Hi. > How do I copy vmlinuz to a bootable MS-dos diskette. > I run RH 7.2 and I can't find RAWRITE for writing to > ms-dos. > I want to copy files from my hda /boot/ dir to a > bootable dos diskette. > And why can I set the vfat type in mount i.e. > > mount -t vfat /dev/fd0 /root > > Nor the msdos type can be set in RH 7.2 > Why? > > ===== > Investigating the Norwegain 4.th Secret Service > The multiheaded animal. > http://hjem.sol.no/altiett/knut_ove_hauge_kuren.html > > ______________________________________________________ > Sjekk snørapporter... > fra 500 ski-destinasjoner i Europa > på http://no.snow.yahoo.com/ > > > > _______________________________________________ > Redhat-list mailing list > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list > _______________________________________________ Redhat-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
