I recently installed hylaFAX in my machine.. but when I want to send a
fax I just receive this message:

request id is 30 (group id 30) for host localhost (1 file)
but the fax isn't sended... when I use "faxstat" receive this:
HylaFAX scheduler on localhost.localdomain: Running
Modem ttyS1 (817483): Running and idle
I looks like the service is ok

It seems like you set up Hylafax correctly using the faxsetup command,
and that you are using faxgetty to automatically start and tell Hylafax
about the modem, and to answer the phone after the #of rings you set it
to, as it is listed in your example. If not using faxgetting, you must
type in the command, on the command line, modem ttyS1 to tell Hylafax
what modem to send on.. The only other thing I can think of what command
line variables, that is what do you type when you send a fax? My command
to send a fax is: sendfax -n -D -d 13125551212 /home/myname/file.ps
See man sendfax. the -n means no fax cover sheet, -D means send me email
if fax went through okay, and the -d is the command for the phone number
you want to send to... It must be in this order... especially with the
-d. Also check your hylafax logs in /var/spool/hylafax/ for log errors,
etc.

HTH

Gary
