There is a problem with the iptables build by RH. You can either compile and install iptables yourself or you can download the iptables RPM from ftp.shorewall.net in pub/shorewall. There are 2 versions iptables-1.2.4-1.i386.rpm and iptables-1.2.5-1.i386.rpm I use iptables-1.2.5-1.i386.rpm and the 2.4.18 kernel.
