As far as I know you will not be able to boot from the Ilink port. I own a Vaio F560. Sony never meant it to be used at boot time. When they set it up they had there digital recorders in mind. Not diskdrives. You would have to boot from the internal harddrive then possibly you be able to use the ilink port.
