How? I've tried >make uninstall but the problem persists when I install again? Where did you put it? Don't install custom material to system locations. Always build with --prefix=/usr/local/package-1.2.3 (or /opt, or other location as you deem appropriate). Then "uninstalling" is usually just a matter of deleting one directory, and you can easily run or test multiple versions of anything you like. In the case of licq, you can probably just ignore whatever you've done, and rebuild as above. Then just put the new one in your PATH ahead of system locations. /usr belongs to the distributor of your OS; don't mess with it, in most cases. You'll thank yourself, and won't ever have to utter the term "uninstall" again. It's an ugly, profane word, and implies a confused entanglement of dependencies that only Windows users should have to worry about. ;-) - -d - -- David Talkington PGP key: http://www.prairienet.org/~dtalk/0xCA4C11AD.pgp - -- http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/pale_blue_dot.html -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: PGP 6.5.8 Comment: Made with pgp4pine 1.75-6 iQA/AwUBPIE0p79BpdPKTBGtEQIG7wCfdwnGUtD+6PxibomuODIy28XsrjwAoNLP gpwsNGfJs0TT/DPGUEwIrhDk =ahnR -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ Redhat-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
