Have a look at http://freshmeat.net/projects/current/. This claims to still be beta and does not have all the features of up2date, but is designed for small to medium environments where you control the packages that need updating. The docs specifically state that if all you want is to keep your home system updated with security patches, use up2date since it's a better tool for the job. Perhaps Red Hat will release its server source one of these days, but that would likely cost them revenue dollars, so I'm not keeping my fingers crossed. I do expect other projects like up2date that corporate environments can use to keep their own packages updated, or simply to ensure a consistent baseline package environment that does not necessarily have Red Hat's latest code. Search on freshmeat for "up2date" and you'll find a couple of other packages that may do what you need. .../Ed -- Ed Wilts, Mounds View, MN, USA mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] _______________________________________________ Redhat-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
