I've got a relatively simple web requirement that I haven't been able to find a solution for.  I need some web software that lets multiple (authenticated) users manage e-mail and snail-mail addresses.  These users would simply enter and update the addresses and allow them to belong to multiple groups.  I would then write scripts to extract the e-mail addresses for each group and fire them into mailman - the users would not use mailman themselves for this list since the majority of them would not know how.  I'd also need to generate mailing labels for the users.  This will definitely not be used for spam - I run the webserver (currently Red Hat Linux 7.1) for a 2 non-profit societies.

The part I haven't found is a simple mechanism for maintaining the address list online.  I have total control over the server since it's mine.  I've thought of using ldap, but I've never set up an ldap server before and don't know how hard it is to drive one but I think that this would allow members to e-mail each other fairly easily by pointing their mailers at my ldap server.

Any thoughts on how to approach this would be greatly appreciated!
