Machine won't boot after remove SCSI card

Hello, list.

I am using Redhat 6.2 on an IBM 5500 which has 3 scsi controller.

1. A ServerRaid 4l connect the boot disk.
2. An build-in ultra160 controller which connect nothing.
3. An additional ultra160 controller connect to an external tape drive.

After I remove the additional (3) controller, the machine cannot be boot. It display

"Kernel panic. Cannot load found system on 08:01"

Please advice.
