yuck! we ran spong for nearly a year and dumped it in favor of the (IMHO) vastly superior netsaint (http://www.netsaint.org). i found netsaint to be: more reliable and less flaky with false alarms much easier to configure handles nested notification schemes/time of day configuration better handles parent/child configuration better
admittedly, it has been a year since i used spong, but in the year we've been on netsaint i've _never_ considered going back. spong isn't bad, it's just that netsaint is better.
