Try
   man printcap
The "sd" part is the spool directory.  Depending upon how secure your
system is/has to be, you can 777 it.

Printconf that comes with 7.2 is suppose to have a
text mode, maybe it would work.
I have altered printcap but never started from
scratch. As I remember it creates a spool director
with several files you need. They are quite different
between 6.2 and 7.2. If you know someone with
7.0 you could checkout what is in the spool
directory and try copying them and modifying as
necessary, also be sure to start lpd.
