Thanks all for replying. I was not aware that ARP will show the HW address. I still 
have a question, how do I check HW addresses on a different subnets? I know Fransisco 
Neira suggested ettercap; as I only need this tool at my "corporate" employer and I am 
not part of the "IT Security" group, they will frown very hard on my for using network 
sniffers. Privacy is quite big, and they do monitor the network. If there is a simple 
dedicated app for getting HW addresses over different subnets, I can easily explain it 
away. a network sniffer is not that easy.
