If you installed wine from an rpm it should 'just work' as it is installed by the rpm. You shouldn't need to run wineinstall. The documentation should be under /usr/share/doc/wine-{version} Check the docs and the config file that should be created in ~/.wine/ Note that it may not be created until you try to run an application under wine. I believe the default 'C' directory is /usr/share/wine-c/ A quick test you could try: If you have access to a windows machine, copy 'freecell.exe' to /usr/share/wine-c/windows/freecell.exe and copy cards.dll (from windows\system, I believe) to /usr/share/wine-c/windows/system/cards.dll You should then be able to execute 'wine /usr/share/wine-c/windows/freecell.exe' I use it here on an machine running 7.2 without any difficulty. I've been able to get quicken 6 and quicken 98 working under wine. I even got the windows installer to install them under wine. Both work, with limitations. Printing a check won't work, not that I really expected it would. Quicken locks up often, normally caused by using a drop down selection box. If I baby it, and ask nicely, I can sometimes manage to enter several transactions without lockup. None of the above is a complaint, by the way. Wine is a pretty slick solution, and seems to continue improving. You might want to try a recent version from http://www.linux-easy.com/daily/ Hope that helps, - -D - -- pgp key: http://www.tuxfan.homeip.net:8080/pgpkey.txt - -- -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD8DBQE8UgHmeMAUbzJhSVcRAle/AKCfj7M3ucFxdvSwpqVMqWlhFKeIegCggALt 4ld5CBZ+iNPhwTxXUS4Gklo= =7ikc -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ Redhat-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
