True with VMware at $300. However, VMware Express at $80 is also an option 
but has limitations:

* No raw partitions usable, so you *do* have to reinstall
* Only runs Win9x as the guest OS

A viable solution for a cheaper price of entry, and if all you have left is 
one or two apps, then running 9x instead of NT or 2K is an acceptable 
compromise.

Just pointing out the options.
