Problems with pop3, imap and telnet which seem to have been related to DNS
queries have all gone away today, 24 hours after appearing.  But why?  What
caused them, what cured them?

ISTM that  DNS was being like *really* slow in responding, which could be
caused by -- excess traffic?  bad routing table somewhere?  DOS attack on
DNS servers? dreaded "linux virus"?

Messages to this forum re slow pops come from all over the place, not just
one ISP domain.  There were a couple of complaints in comp.mail.sendmail,
these also from folks running RedHat.  Do we have a RedHat issue here?

I'm curious...
