Something really strange going on.

I copied a bunch of files, 4.7GB worth from a PeeCee to the Linux server.
I had to change the content of some of them, so I did and then did a
remove of the directory they were placed in via a Unix rm command.
I then went to copy over the new files.  I complained about not having
the space.  Whoa, I just removed the files to create enough space.

Sure enough, there is a difference:

du -s reports 31000140 being used
df    reports 34007728 being used

Excuse me, but where did the 3GB vanish too?
