Agreed. If you have to pay for online time, and if you want to do it all at once, and if you use dialup. When I first started downloading the ISOs, I used dialup. I shared the link with my wife. She would come home from work in the middle of the night and couldn't do much on the internet because I was using the full potential of the link for getting the ISOs. I fixed it up in a bass-ackward way, like I usually do when these things happen: I got a download manager (Webdownloader, or NT as its real name is) and had it do the download; then sometime before she'd get home I had a cron process kill the downloader; when I started it up the next morning, it would pick up where it left off and continue; I'd then have to kill it before she'd get up, and restart it after I got home. This method took 4 days to get each ISO. I downloaded several things like that and (lucky me) never had one corrupted. Good thing I have cable now. I can get everything in a few hours instead of several days. If I had to do it all over again, I'd just wait until it shows up in the stores. > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "ABrady" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Sent: Wednesday, January 16, 2002 5:40 PM > Subject: Re: Comparisons > > > > On Thu, 17 Jan 2002 01:54:42 +0100 > > "Go, Jeffrey" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> implied: > > > > > redhat FREE??? > > > > > > I am about to pay $100 for it > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Jeff Go > > > SAP Labs > > > BSS Systems > > > Tel #: 650-849-4069 > > > > Nice of you to do so.
