Forget host-based authentication. Use SMTP AUTH; I just posted another 
message to the list on another thread (less than an hour ago) about how to 
get it working easily. This was my salvation, and if everything goes right 
it will take you less than five minutes to get working.

If you don't get it working quickly, post another message (use a subject 
like "Setting up SMTP AUTH" to make it more visible), and kindly note your 
OS version, sendmail version, and sendmail.mc contents.
