Hello,

I am having a weird problem here. I have a machine that I use for my
day-to-day stuff. It has had more than a few varieties of Linux on it, so
I don't think much is wrong w/ the hardware, but it's always possible.
The problem is that when I am in X (doesn't matter which windowmanager,
whether GNOME, KDE, XFCE, WindowMaker, twm, or just at the login manager
(gdm)) and try to do the Control-Alt-F1 thing to switch to the first
virtual console, the box locks up hard. If I'm lucky, I can ssh into it
from another one and do a 'killall X' and then after a couple minutes, it
drops back to the login manager.

Any ideas?

TIA,

Monte
