Yes, you can definitely do it. I have Apache running mollynet.com on my
machine and I have qmail doing email for me on the same machine. I have an
IDSL connection at 144KB. I would give my left nut to have ADSL. From the
time I asked a very similar question on this same list to where I am now, it
took about a year and hundreds of hours of reading documentation and
How-tos. Start with redhat.com and go from there. It is a lot of work.

Good luck, be persistent, it can be done, be ready to be frustrated to near
hopelessness on many occasions. When your machine is hacked to bits by
malicious intruders because you didn't know how to secure it properly, don't
give up - reinstall.
