Hi Gordon, I downloaded fresh 1) alsa-driver-0.9.0beta9-1.72.i386.rpm 2) alsa-driver-0.9.0beta9-1.72.athlon.rpm 3) alsa-driver-0.9.0beta9-1.72.src.rpm from Internet
# rpm --rebuilddb # rpm -ivh alsa-driver-0.9.0beta9-1.72.i386.rpm Installation went on without problem then I copied your script to /etc/modules.conf (without any change, your sound card driver same as mine) # depmod snd-card-0 sound card still could not be detected. Problem remained intact. (same to alsa-driver-0.9.0beta9-1.72.athlon.rpm) Finally # rpm -- rebuild alsa-driver-0.9.0beta9-1.72.src.rpm Repeated all abovementioned steps. Now it works Lot of thanks for your advice as well as to other guys on the list giving me assistance in this incident. B.R.
