Hi all, I have RH7.1 running squid cache proxy server on a dual CPU machine 600Mhz each, 256MB RAM and 512MB swap space.
I notice that CPUs are always very loaded in system mode. It sometimes reaches 99%. Squid is using a large amount of CPU resource. CPU0 states: 1.3% user, 76.0% system, 0.0% nice, 22.1% idle CPU1 states: 0.2% user, 63.3% system, 0.0% nice, 36.0% idle Mem: 255152K av, 253312K used, 1840K free, 0K shrd, 67640K buff Swap: 530104K av, 7256K used, 522848K free 89456K cached PID USER PRI NI SIZE RSS SHARE STAT %CPU %MEM TIME COMMAND 20727 squid 14 0 41756 40M 1280 R 57.6 16.3 147:30 squid I'm not finding it normal. what might be causing that? How can I reduce CPU usage? I would greatly appreciate any help and thank you in advance.
