Sometimes I get dumped to the console words to the effect of 'open log
/var/log/samba/log.smb' failed using console.

Then all the stuff which would normally go to the log is dumped to the
console.

I've checked the permissions and they are the same as log.nmb (0777).

Funny thing is, is that there ARE current entries going to the log. It only
SOMETIMES seems to not work.

So, do we have a file locking problem or something?

I DO have in ps aux 2 smbd thingies running. One like: '[smbd]' and one like
'smbd -D'.

Or am I barking up the wrong tree here. Any ideas? Should I have two of
these entries?

A little lost here. RH 6.2 with all up2date updates and Samba 2.0.10-0.62
