by adding following line to my  hosts.allow on the nfs server  (corni)
it all just works.
ALL: 192.168.2.1   <<< ip of the nfs client  (byers)


I am really puzzled how i got it to work
last september without this...??

also quite a few msgs with this same problem found searching on google
at least one or two with same solution shown here.
