Running stock Red Hat 6.1 on a Packard Bell Legend 85CD Supreme 486-66. I can no longer log in. The login prompt is there, when I enter "root" or any username the prompt goes to the next line, but the password request doesn't appear. It sits for about 40 seconds and then flashes the following error message across the screen:
