I've been quite happy with my Matrox G450. With 32MB, this board can be
easily had for <$100 (99 in retail box from a local computer shop). I'm
including a link to mwave where you can get a single-head 16MB version
for $49. I've been very happy with my only mwave order a month or so
back. This is a dual-head card but I've been running it with only 1
monitor. It's supported out of the box on a RedHat install.

The Matrox cards were one of the first to be supported for anti-aliases
fonts under KDE. It also plays a nice game of TuxRacer if you must :-)
