Ok, one last thing to try. The software is probably looking for the CD's
on D: right? I think it's more of that than needing to be an actual cdrom
(could be wrong).

Myabe this will work under 2000 (it does under NT4) - change your cdrom to
another drive letter and subst d: to a local directory on C:
