I've done it several times, though not lately. From memory, here's some steps that seem to me to be the right ones. YMMV. --partition the new drive the way you want it --using mke2fs (or appropriate) to create the filesystems --copy stuff from the old partitions to the new ones (using cp -a or other appropriate command) --edit any necessary config files (/etd/fstab, whatever) to reflect any changed partitions. --make a bootable floppy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! --remove the old drive --plug in the new one --boot from floppy --modify /etc/lilo.conf as required, rerun /sbin/lilo --remove floppy, see if it'll boot. -- ---- Fred Smith -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] ----------------------------- The Lord detests the way of the wicked but he loves those who pursue righteousness. ----------------------------- Proverbs 15:9 (niv) ----------------------------- _______________________________________________ Redhat-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
