On a RH 7.2 SCSI based system:
I keep getting the following "kern" messages:

Nov 24 06:58:20 runner kernel: cdrom: open failed.
Nov 24 06:58:20 runner kernel: VFS: Disk change detected on device sr(11,1)
Nov 24 06:58:52 runner last message repeated 35 times
Nov 24 06:59:54 runner last message repeated 62 times
Nov 24 07:00:55 runner last message repeated 61 times
Nov 24 07:01:57 runner last message repeated 61 times
Nov 24 07:02:59 runner last message repeated 62 times

Unless I have a cdrom in the cdrom drive (doesn't seem to matter whether it is
mounted or not.)

I have turned off the automount stuff from the desktop, but I still get the
messages.

What process is generating these messages and how do I configure my RH 7.2
system NOT to check the drive? (other than leaving a cdrom in the drive all
the time)

Richard
