I am having a problem with samba at redhat 7.2. I am using samba 2.2.1a from RH 7.2 CD.
When I used the kernel that comes with RH installation, both smbd and nmbd are working fine. When I used costumised kernels (2.4.12-ac6 and 2.4.14) none of them work. Both daemons can actually be ran fine, but whenever I want to mount a share from other machine the connection was refused. Note: the same smb.conf works with RH kernel. I know I included smb filesystem support, but I think that is used only if I want to mount smb share from somewhere else. Is there anything in kernel configuration that I could probably missed? What else could be wrong?
