If you're "kinda figuring out" and have no clue at the moment, I would not suggest you directly jump into your own DNS server. Check out http://www.dyndns.org to get you going while you figure things out; in the end you may find that you prefer to keep them, or you may move to your own server when you're ready. -- Rodolfo J.
