I have to share this. I was at the AMD techtour in OKC lst night and
the powerpoint proesentation locked up windows 2000 right in the middle
of the Microsoft guy's presentation. Funny as hell. He even had the
gall to speak later in the presentation (after hard reset and reboot)
about how stable a platform windows 2000 was. Brought the house down.
Most of the folks there were system builders and are bigtime Microsoft
users/resellers but even those guys know what a pain windows can be. I
was not at the Comdex when Gates' demo hung but it was the first thing I
thought of.
Another interesting point made was that if users are not allready on
windows 2000 there is not a hope in hell that thier machins will run
XP. The implication was that XP will be more bloated than 2000. I
simply cannot imagine.
