I installed RedHat7.1 and it went well. However, it never asked me for my
networking particulars so my ethernet link was not set up. That is ok. I
understand.
Now - I just set it up manually using the 'netconfig' program and all that
installed ok but still no eth0 port. I checked lsmod and saw no ethernet
driver. So I ran 'insmod 8139too' and up it came. I now had my ethernet
interface installed and everythign working.
To test things I rebooted , and no sir - that ethernet interface was not
found. Again I had to run insmod 8139too to bring it up but what am I doing
wrong that I have to do this everytime.
I even ran depmod -a to see if that would help. No luck.
So - would someone tell me why the modules are not finding my ethernet port
automatically? I sure don't want to run 'insmod' everytime I reboot my
computer..
