This means that your initialization file is not right. This could be that
you have not created the database instance right or have not done the init
file right. With 8.1.5 and 6.1 it can also mean you have not updated the
OS properly or downloaded the right components. 8.1.5 is VERY buggy, you
would do good to upgrade to 8.1.7 which can be downloaded from Oracle for
free. While you are at it you want to run 6.2 instead of 6.1. I have
found these to be a stable platform for a production Oracle system.
