Subject: Booting to Runlevel 5
I am trying to understand what goes on during the boot process and have
finally reached a dead in.
The rc3.d and rc5.d directories contain the same links to the files in
init.d
directory. I would have thought the rc5.d would link to something that
started Xwindows but that doesn't seem to be the case here.
So, my question is where and how does the system determine whether or
not to start Xwindows?
Thanks for helping out this newbie getting below the surface of Linux.
