I'm told that this is documented at the Red Hat web site. I couldn't
find it but I am a moron.

Update to 3.0.5 first.  It groks the new format.  Do not upgrade to
3.0.6, as it has funny glibc issues.

Then install 4.0.whatever and run rpm --rebuilddb and you should be set.
