Hi, I am trying to mount a Win2000 smbfs share. 1. I have made a username "nameA" on the ntfs volume and have added that to the share list. 2. I have made a directory , call it "/mnt/win2000share" on my linux box and assigned ownership to the user but left the group as "root" [Not sure about that one] 3. I enter the command "mount -t smbfs -o username=nameA,password=[thepassword] //win200machinename/sharename /mnt/win2000share it seems to work - no error is reported - until I try to 'cd /mnt/win2000share' and the it says that it can't be 'stated'. Point me in the correct direction please!
