I upgraded from kernel 2.2.17 to 2.4.2...running the following commands:
make menuconfig (configured with smc-ultra as a module)
make dep
make bzImage
make modules
make modules_install
renamed the new image to linux-2.4.2
copied it to /boot
edited lilo.conf
ran lilo
now at this point all went well....but when I boot with the new image my
eth0 doesn't load, it gives me some error about init_module not configured,
ismod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters including invalid
IO or irq parameters
Im not sure why I would get this error,..booting from kernel 2.2.17 doesn't
give me this issue with the smc-ultra
any suggestions???
