I run 6.2 and I use 2.10f. 2.4.x loads and runs fine (other than any of
the lil bugs I haven't found as of yet). Not every item on that list is
100% necessary. Upgrade everything you can. Note: you may end up having to
pull the RPM of something to install its update via tarball
(.tar[.gz|.bz2]). PPP is a good example. PPP 2.4.x is required, which you
will have to install from tarball. Go to www.freshmeat.net to search for
the stuff you can't find a 6.2 update RPM for (don't go and use a 7.0
(since you use 6.2) one, unless it's a source rpm that you end up having
luck doing a successful --rebuild on).
remember: if you're going to install a package from tarball, remove its
RPM first.
