Problems with modules

I recompiled my kernel for the first time today and everything seemed to go
ok except when I boot I get the following error:

depmod can't open: /lib/modules/2.2.14-5.0/modules.dep

Now, 2.2.14-5.0 is my old kernel and the directory 2.2.14-5.0 is no longer
there. So my question is what do I do to fix this?
