Sounds like you have something configured wrong but if your sound card
won't connect to the CD then you probably need a new one. I've seen a
lot of things for compatable and it seems that all the popular ones work
fine in Linux.

No, I even added a few things. I've looked manually on the system and cd
and havn't found x11amp anywhere.
