Xscreensaver

Hi, I'm running RH 7.0 and I'm having a problem with the screensaver in X.
it seems to me power saving on the monitor kick in before Xscreensaver kicks
in. I have apm disabled in the bios and in rc.d but for some reason the
monitor still goes to sleep. Can anyone give me some guidance on this?
